We took the kids to Old McDonald's Farm, located here in Humble, Texas. Here the whole family can enjoy pony rides, feeding animals, riding a train and several other activities. Our kids' favorite thing? The giant mound of sand. Who wants to ride a horse or see live animals when you can play on top of a pile of sand?! For our three, the answer is obvious.

The only downside of the outing was this sign posted by the llamas:

What happened to this sign?! What is it trying to warn us about? Did the llamas bite this thing off; the same llamas that we are letting eat feed out of our hands? Fortunately we went home without a llama-related incident.

Brody and Abilene are at the critical and common stage of life where the word "underwear" is the funniest thing they've ever heard. This low-brow humor seems to affect all toddlers, but currently they'll bring it up at the dinner table, driving in the car, etc. and have a big laugh. So now we have to watch what they say in public, lest they make an undergarment-related comment and offend someone (and more importantly embarrass us).

We watched the Cardinals beat the Cubs 5-4 on Saturday, scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Normally a Cards victory is cause for celebration (especially against the Cubs), but it was fun to have everyone in the living room, watching the game and erupting with the winning hit. Brody and Abby jumping around yelling, giving the kids high-fives, even Lorena screaming simply because everyone else was. Plus, for five minutes, no one said "underwear." It was a special moment.

After seeing an ad for the third season of "Prison Break" on TV, here's how a conversation went:
April: How can they have a third season? Didn't they already escape from prison?
Justin (smugly joking): Yes, but then they got married.
(Awkward silence)
April (angrily): So, being married is like being in prison?!
Justin (panicking): Um...underwear?
Yeah, I'm going to pay for that snide comment for a while. Hopefully April doesn't throw me to the llamas...

My wonderful wife is still married to me.

Brody is also into playing "Police" lately, where he puts you in jail and you have to escape (maybe he was watching Prison Break).
I was the victim on Saturday when he declared he was putting me in the "Lolly Pop Jail." That didn't sound so bad, but then he changed his mind and said I was going to the "Pirate Jail." I don't know much about either one, but I was pretty sure I'd like to avoid the Pirate Jail. After listening to my plea to go to the Lolly Pop Jail instead, he finally decided to put me in the "Underwear Jail" and laughed his head off.
Now that is cruel and unusual punishment.
