The Big Matchup

In this corner, the kids' desire to watch the movie "Cars" for the seventh time in as many days. In the other corner, Mom and Dad's desire to watch college and NFL football. Who will win this battle of viewing preference?

Rather than have this confrontation come to blows (because hitting kids is wrong and we're pretty sure Abby can take both of us anyway) we opted for a compromise: the kids get to watch their movie in comfy chairs on the portable DVD player while the big kids get the big TV. Seems fair, right?

If they keep going for this, the portable DVD player will be the MVP of the football season. It worked too, because we got to watch a nail-biting victory of Texas A&M over Fresno State 47-45 in triple overtime.

We also got to see another funny commercial, this time by Domino's Pizza:

Let's hope the football season has more A&M victories and laugh-out-loud commercials in store for us.

Speaking of commercials, we saw an ad for the upcoming ABC sit-com Cavemen. April and I put the over/under for this show at 7 episodes. I took the under and April took the over, but only by 1 or 2 shows. If you want in on the action, let us know what you think, but I think we can all agree, the odds are heavily against this show being any good.

Thank goodness there's football on to ease the pain.
