Cutting It Close

Wow, that was a close one.

During our trip to St. Louis earlier this month, one of the automatic doors on our van stopped working. Not really a big deal, but we've grown accustomed to having them open at the push of a button (i.e. we're lazy). Taking it into the dealership took some planning, as the van has all the car seats, but we finally decided to take it in today.

Our 9:30 am appointment quickly turned into an 11:30 am delay and the car was finally ready at 1 pm. Keeping the kids happy and not getting kicked out of an automotive dealer showroom are rare gifts my wife possesses.

The Good News is they were able to fix the problem.

The Better News is that it was under warranty and didn't cost us a thing.

The Best News is that the warranty was a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. We bought the van June 30, 2005 and it has 34,500 miles.

That's right. We beat the deadline by a mere 3 days and/or 1,500 miles!

Thank goodness we didn't go with our original plan of waiting until after July 4th. That blog entry wouldn't have been pretty or suitable for young children...
